Song story · Tune to Love

LIEFDE

1 Korintiërs 13 — the first song I tried to record with my new microphone.

Behind the song

The scary first recording.

Liefde is built around the message of love in 1 Korintiërs 13. This was the first song I tried to record after buying a cheap microphone, when I had almost no idea how to record myself.

I was so shy about anyone hearing me sing that I moved my workstation into my bedroom so my mom and daughter could not hear me recording. The funny part is that the visuals came first: I had already started making the video because the message itself inspired me to share it.

The first recording sounded rough, but I made the video anyway. Later, after The Light and everything I learned after it, I returned to Liefde, redid it and finally published it.

Some beginnings aren’t polished. They’re simply the moment you become brave enough to begin.
